What we do

Working together for a stronger community

We shift power to the community by bringing residents together to decide which local community organisations and projects to support.

We partner with funders and local businesses to raise funds, bring in resources and change how local people are involved in decision making.

We encourage giving in the broadest sense. This could mean sharing time, expertise, raising funds, sharing resources or even providing project space.

What is participatory grant making?

Participatory grant making means local people decide where funding goes. Residents bring their lived experience and local knowledge to community decision-making panels, where they choose which Redbridge community organisations and projects to support. This means funding is spent on the real needs and priorities of Redbridge residents, and power is shifted to local people.

‍

We believe that trusting residents to make decisions about how to support their local area helps to create lasting change. Community decision-making panels include local people from a range of different backgrounds, who represent Redbridge’s diverse community. We welcome people who have lived experience of the wellbeing challenges faced in Redbridge.

Interested in joining a panel?

‍

Before funding rounds, we look for Redbridge residents to get involved as community panel members.

‍

No experience is necessary, just local knowledge, and a willingness to engage and make a difference.
